# Prohibited Items

**What items are not accepted?**

We understand that it can be confusing to determine which items are accepted for recycling. If you’re unsure about an item, please don’t hesitate to contact us. For the safety of our employees and the environment, we cannot accept items that pose a fire, explosion, or pollution risk. Please dispose of these items responsibly according to local regulations. The following items are **not accepted** by CompuCycle for recycling:

 

### Household Appliances

- Fans
- Refrigerators
- Stoves
- Washer/Dryers
- Microwaves
- Vacuum Cleaners

### Optical Media

- CDs
- DVDs

### Hazardous Materials

- Paint
- Oil Waste
- Mercury Devices
- Medical/Biohazard Waste
- Disposable Vapes and E-Cigarettes 

### Specialized Equipment

- Smoke Alarms
- Solar Panels
- Dehumidifiers
- Air Conditioners
- CPAP Machines

### Paper & Packaging Materials 

- Paper
- Cardboard Boxes
- Packaging Materials
