Auction Item Conditions

Are the products on your auctions working?

Yes, all products on our auctions are tested for functionality. We provide a 30-day warranty on hardware except for laptop batteries, which have no warranty.

Are the batteries in the notebooks new or used? 

The batteries are used and tested to hold a 30 minute charge under normal Windows conditions. 

Do the batteries in laptops have a warranty?

Laptop batteries are considered consumables and do not have a warranty.

Am I able to inspect the goods before I make an offer?

No, because the product is already packed and banded for shipment prior to the auction. However, we usually have 3 to 5 pictures of the product on the auction site. Product condition is specified in the manifest.

Am I able to inspect the goods if I win a bid?

No, because the product is already packed and banded for shipment prior to the auction. However, we usually have 3 to 5 pictures of the product on the auction site. We also provide pictures of the pallets for each order that is shipped. Product condition is specified in the manifest.

What is the health of the hard drives that you sell?

Hard Drives are all tested working and the health is between 80% and 100%.

What is the difference between a grade B and a grade C in laptops?

A grade C unit will have the same cosmetic defects as a grade B but more severe, e.g. a scratch on the plastics in the grade C may be a bit deeper, or a dent may be a bit larger.

Are laptop screens all in grade A condition?

  • Laptop screens may have some of the following issues:

  • Slight/heavy pitting in screen

  • Dark or light spots on screen

  • Slightly dim screen

  • Small scratches on screen

  • However, none of the above affects the functionality of the units.

Are the iPhones unlocked?

CompuCycle does NOT resell MAM, MDM, iCloud (FMIP) locked, or Jailbroken devices. The units may be “carrier locked”. Those associations are disclosed on the inventory sheet of each bid listing.

Can I purchase grade D or non-working/untested product?

No. Grade D, non-working and untested products are all shredded in our shredding facility and are not available for purchase.
